Y is for Yellow

Next week we introduce Y to our kindergarteners.  I just found two wonderful books at the library to help us with this.  Someone had suggested The Yellow Dot, which I would love, but that is not the kind of book a library keeps on its shelves.

I did find Yellow as a Lemon by Molly Dingles and Yellow:  Seeing Yellow All Around Us by Sarah Schuette.

Would be nice if I could learn how to put my pictures where I want them....how frustrating.

I am busy making some "I have...who has" cards for Yellow as a Lemon.

I hope to post them eventually.  At this point my computer will not let me upload files.  Perhaps my Firefox needs to be updated....old computer here with Windows 93.

I downloaded some new fonts but when I went to use them I was very disappointed in how they turned out.

Time for bed.  Good night

Eggshells and the Letter E

Can you believe it?  Eggshells.....I am collecting eggshells to crush so that I can glue them on an E template so the little kindergarteners can trace the letter with their finger as they learn to say the short e sound.  Only wish I had thought of this a few months earlier.  It has been fun making large letters for the children to trace.  Texture is what it is all about.  V is for velvet    C is for corduroy    S is for sandpaper   T is for terrycloth    W is for Wood (lots of toothpicks)
